LPM ROME 2019 - LIVE PERFORMERS MEETING

The twentieth edition of LPM Live Performers Meeting is set to happen from the 2nd to 5th of May in the Mattatoio, Rome, Italy.
LPM 2019 Rome offers a unique opportunity to participate in 4 days packed with audiovisual performances, VJing experiences, workshops, panel discussions and product showcases, all presented by more than 400 artists, professionals and Audio Visuals Performing Arts enthusiasts from 40 countries.

With over 150 activities, the programme aims to explore a variety of themes through new audiovisual languages, techniques and softwares. This will include hands-on workshops on Live-Coding, LED mapping and stage design for events, gestural control of music and bodily musical performance; presentations of artist platforms, hot tools, local VJ communities from 5 different continents; a conference on AV Audience Development; video installations analysing current political scenarios, cultural ensembles, the use of interactive cameras, transforming bodies and faces through animated gif, personal and meta data tracing, and beyond…

Thanks to the contribution of the European Community, the LPM project was brought around the world, to produce a number of editions in Xalapa (MX), Minsk (BY), Mexico City (MX), Cape Town (SA), Eindhoven (NL) and two in Amsterdam (NL) in addition to those held in Rome (IT).

Since 2004, LPM hosted more than 4.600 artists, 2.625 performances, workshops and showcases, recorded an overall amount of 72 participating countries and welcomed more than 1.500.000 visitors. We are happy to welcome you to be a part of the celebration of all things experimental, creative and interactive.

VJs, AV artists, designers, newcomer enthusiasts, professionals and the audience will be involved in the manifold planned activities, ranging from experimental audiovisual performances, architectural mapping shows, VJ-DJ Sets to workshops, lectures, roundtables and presentations and launches of products and hardwares, with a special focus on Free and Open Source projects.

Designed as a real meeting place, a space that fulfils an important opportunity for dialogue and exchange, LPM encourages research, the encounter and exchange between different forms of artistic expression in the Audio Visuals Performing Arts field, the interaction and experimentation with multiple techniques and digital technologies, ranging between analog, software and hardware.

The project is realised in a collaboration with international partners and co-organizers, includes a series of previews and promotional events focused on live video to be held in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Turkey and United Kingdom, during the most important European festivals and cultural events.
