Dark forces are at work on our planet: an urgent call for expression. Memory and heritage –both historical and cultural- are the foundations on which rests our observatory of the contemporary world. Yet, from this solid platform, the artists’ gaze far transcends the horizon of actual events. The 34th edition of  Romaeuropa Festival thus travels between ancestral rituals and urban culture, between ruptured roots and forced migrations, between global realism and artificial intelligence, to develop a fascinating critical reading of our time. From 17 September to 24 November, 377 artists from 27 countries become the protagonists of 126 events staged in 20 locations across the capital, spanning dance, theatre, music, digital arts and kids. A landscape to discover and to explore, as suggested by President of Romaeuropa Foundation Monique Veaute and as desired and elaborated by General and Artistic Director Fabrizio Grifasi: the "landscape" of ReF19 is a geography of our world today, in between the virtual and the real, offering dreamlike projections of possible futures and permeating the ambiguities of our everyday life.
