The Young International Forum is back: school, university, work and study abroad in order to decrease the NEET phenomon


From 3 to 5 October in Rome plenty opportunities for studying and working both in Italy and abroad will be presented at the Young International Forum

One in three young people in Italy is employed in division that are not in line with their studies. 18% of graduates between the ages of 20 and 24 are overdue, as it happens to the 28% of graduates aged between 25 and 34. The number of Neet (those who are not involved in a course of study, work or training) has been confirmed by almost three million people. These are the data from which the tenth edition of the "Young International Forum" will start. During the three days thousands of young people from all over Italy will attend the location in Rome in search of information, guidance and opportunities to start their career project both in the field of study that work.

Workshops, information points, seminars, interviews, aptitude tests, group games and friendship area will be the reference points of the event that will take place in Rome from 3 to 5 October at the Mattatoio of Testaccio.



Several are the spaces dedicated to orientation towards university. The tutor area, where teachers will be available to offer a first orientation interview; the information area, where Institutions, Universities and Academies will be able to answer the students' questions, a place where they can directly meet the university managers and the experts. And then, the Post Graduate Orientation Workshop, with useful information for the choice of the University, to guide the students towards an autonomous and responsible choice, through self-awareness, their own resources and skills. And the one on the preparation of the Medicine test. 



For those wishing to undertake a course of study, updating or work abroad, at the Young International Forum they could find the LikeFogg platform with 15 guides from as many foreign countries, as well as get in direct contact with the Embasiees of Japan, Sweden, Germany, United States, Spain, France and the Czech Republic. The Fulbright Commission will be present with the United States scholarships; the Embassy of Spain with the opportunities for study and work in the Iberian peninsula; the Embassy of Japan with the scholarships offers and the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme international program; the German DAAD institue with the opportunities in Germany and the French Embassy will be present with the opportunities for those wishing to spend part of their studies in the French Republic.



The Young International Forum has also lots of spaces dedicated to work, like Internship opportunities, prizes, scholarships, real work, volunteering and cultural exchanges. There will be also planned several workshops concerning the selection of personnel: the CV, the construction of the cover letter and the job interview. "The transversal skills useful to work" is the seminar reserved for those questioning the expectations of companies in terms of work. The students of the last year of high school, instead, will be able to challenge each other with "JOBS", the board game designed to transfer the concepts of work through a playing game.



The Young International Forum will be also dedicated to the many young people who would like to create a start-ups. "Turn your ideas into a Start-ups" is the workshop that aims to transfer the culture of doing business, with the testimonies of experts and young start-ups who have launched themselves into the world of youth entrepreneurship. Potential entrepreneurs will be provided with a self-entrepreneurship test that will score their potential in doing business.


Never ever NEET (in Italian #MaipiùNeet) is the tag chosen this year to sensitize politics, businesses and civil society towards a theme that is still very undervalued. The condition regarding the millions of young people, who do not work, do not study and are not involved in any training.
