Curated by Beatrice Tura
The subconscious is an endless source of creativity that 365INCUBI wishes to explore, to celebrate and to share. We propose a collective, multidisciplinary experience that transforms nightmares, collected via a call, into performance and visual art.
The day begins with The Serious Game, a theatrical workshop of improvisation and communication run by Francesca Pasquini, that frees up creativity, listening and intuition to develop the processes steered by the subconscious on the nightmare theme. This is followed by a hybrid performance with sound design by Pasquini and DJ Stiky Verde: electronic music, narrative and images are interwoven in a space organised by the Scimmie Marine collective. The performance is introduced by curator Beatrice Tura, followed by a conversion into a performance of The Serious Game, and winds up with an informal chat with the audience.
The Creative Table, a participatory space devoted to the audience sharing nightmares, will be active throughout the day and accompanied by live painting under artist Daniele Sigismondo’s guiding hand.
365 Incubi is a collective, multidisciplinary project in progress devised by Beatrice Tura, an anthropologist and cultural operator, based on the notion that nightmares show all of us to be great, if unwitting, artists capable of creating extraordinary stories. Inspired by the thinking of such figures as Addison, Borges and Jung, and making use of the intrinsic art of the nightmare, it collects anonymous dreams and transforms them into artistic experiences in the theatre, the visual arts and sound, exploring the collective subconscious.
