The project is promoted by Rome the Capital City’s Cultural Affairs Department and by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo
Produced and organised by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo
In June and July 2025, the space of the Pelanda’s Theatre 1 inside the ex-Mattatoio di Roma will be hosting the seventeen winning events in a competition run by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo in 2025, thus kicking off a dynamic, immersive and participatory cultural programme designed to reflect the vibrancy of Rome’s cultural scene and its links with contemporary art forms.
The project – in which almost 100 individuals, associations and collectives have taken part – is the fruit of Azienda Speciale Palaexpo’s desire to promote and disseminate contemporary culture in all its forms. Through their projects, the selected participants will engage in dialogue with the public, institutions, and to bring them before the public, the institutions and the territory in an urban space such as La Pelanda.
The aim is to transform this space into a workshop increasingly open to ideas, visions and practices, but also to debates, collectives and cultural hubs.
The events selected range from interactive performances to exhibitions, debates, creative workshops and other hybrid formats. What they all share are an experimental approach and a major focus on audience experience and participation in the context of the city of Rome as an area for urban debate and interaction.
