Imaginary Stations. Art and mobility for cities in transformation is a cultural experiment in which mobility becomes a fertile terrain for the production of imaginative artistic practices and collective reflections. The project sets out to explore the transformative role of art in the urban space, with a particular focus on mobile infrastructures – railways, underground trains, stations, cycle lanes, garages – as cultural devices and scenarios for change. An open call collects contributions from artists, authors, town planners and activists, which will be restored in a public event at the Mattatoio’s Theatre 1: an interactive round table with Eugenio Patanè* (Roma Capitale), Arianna Forte (1M sotto la Metro), Camilla Gurgone (spazioSERRA), Federico Catania (Trainline), moderated by Stratosferica* together with the authors selected. Curated by Nicola Brucoli and Carlo Settimio Battisti (TWM Factory), the project was developed as part of the Riscatti di città research programme.

TWM Factory is a cultural association and creative design studio based in Rome, active in enhancing cities through art, design and participatory practices. It curates exhibitions, edits publications and promotes cultural regeneration initiatives, cooperating with public institutions and independent entities. Its main projects include: the Roma Smistamento cultural centre and the Riscatti di città research programme probing the relationship between urban space and cultural production.
