Curated by Edoardo d’Antonio and Clara Addari
Re|Creations at La Pelanda is a theatrical seminar for over 25s and under 60s based on the eponymous performance, devised by the same organisers. It is a formative account that addresses the need to “become someone”, social and personal expectations, the sense of inadequacy and the race towards a future perceived as “tragic”. The audience will attend the performance free of charge, then follow a debate moderated by a journalist and take part in a theatrical workshop. The workshop, focusing on free bodily and vocal expression, will stimulate intergenerational dialogue and reflection. The aim is to provide tools for people to tell their stories, to criticise the present through the theatre and to rediscover the pleasure of creation for the stage as an act of freedom, proving that it is possible to put on a performance with little and to transform every gesture into a performance.
Clara Addari and Edoardo D'Antonio graduated from the Centro Internazionale la Cometa in 2021. They founded the open-box company in 2022 and won the BE/Sabotage competition with Re|Creations that triumphed at the Festival dell’Arte Spaccata in 2023. They work with such directors as Lisa Ferlazzo Natoli and Gianluca Iumiento, and in 2024 Re|Creations made its debut at the Teatro Palladium, produced by Casa del Contemporaneo. Clara is completing the CROSS pathway and Edoardo is attending the Alta Formazione del Teatro di Roma.
