Are we sure that our choices are really and truly ours? What if our every action, decision and reaction were in fact dictated, guided and influenced by external factors? When can we really claim to be free? And above all, what is the triggering factor to become something’s or someone’s pawn? Why? Five young ballerinas, taking their cue from a physical and emotional individuality, will show how emerging from daily standardisation can mark their existence. In the centre of the stage, imposing and a protagonist, a cube will physically and metaphorically become a life space. A cage-cube, a cube that takes us back to a social order in which the status quo prevails over individual freedom. To try and answer a simple, recurrent and crucial question: “What would happen if only I chose a different path?”

Authentic (E)motions is a young and dynamic TRUST ASD dance company. For three years now it has been bringing energy, creativity and versatility to the stage, ranging from major playhouses to off theatres, rock concerts and art galleries. With its fresh and innovative style, it enhances its dancers’ diversity to tell stories and recount emotions through the body with authenticity and passion.
