La Pelanda

F. De Isabella was born in Milan, in 1984. After graduating in filmmaking and photography at Civica Scuola di Cinema of Milan, in 2009 Fra co-founds Strasse, a performing art group that worked in public space. At the same time, in 2007, they start djing under the pseudonymous of ubi broki, organizing elctro-romantic-queer parties.
In the last years Fra has worked as sound designer for Giorgia Ohanesian Nardin, Chiara Bersani, Titta Raccagni, Collettivo Mine, as well as collaborating as a dj for Cristina Crystal Rizzo and Daniele Ninarello. Together with other artists, Fra has been asking questions starting from the desire and necessity of looking into dynamics, approaches, methods and issues related to “art making” from a queer and transfeminist perspective.
In 2021 they presented at Centrale Fies “DICIOTTANNI - simultaneously an arch of 18 years and being 18 years old, coming of age”, the first part of their new work as an author.

Prender-si cura is the name of the artistic research and production residency programme devised and curated by Ilaria Mancia, held in the spaces of La Pelanda at the Mattatoio. A group of artists are invited to develop their research, ranging from dance and theatrical performance to visual art, music and video.
