“La finzione contemporanea ha spesso abolito il presunto confine col documentario. Di quest’ultimo mantiene essenzialmente la presenza irrecusabile dei luoghi e dei corpi, salvo poi giocare sullo spazio che li contiene, sugli effetti di prossimità e di distanza possibili. Della tradizionale finzione, abbandona volentieri gli intrecci e gli esiti delle storie per concentrarsi meglio sulla loro matrice sensibile, sul tempo e sugli affetti ad esso legati. Propongo di esaminare come questi due elementi si articolano nei film di Clément Cogitore: il tempo che genera ripetizione ma anche attesa e paura; lo spazio che unisce i corpi o li allontana , li mostra o li rende invisibili”. Jacques Rancière è professore onorario all’Università di Parigi VIII, dove ha insegnato dal

1968 al 2000 nel Dipartimento di Filosofia. Ha insegnato inoltre alla European Graduate School e in diverse università americane. La sua opera indaga le frontiere tra politica, estetica, studi letterari e cinematografici. Si ricordano in particolare le seguenti opere: La Nuit des prolétaires (1981), Le Maître ignorant (1987), Le Partage du sensible (2000), La Fable cinématographique (2001), Le Destin des images (2003), Le Spectateur émancipé (2007) , Aisthesis. Scène du régime esthétique de l’art (2011) et Les Bords de la fiction (2017).

Deep in the Siberian taiga, 700 km from the nearest settlement, two families have just arrived: the Braguines and the Kilines. They live in autarchy, according to their own rules and principles. A barrier runs separates the village: the two families refuse to speak to one another. On an island in the river a third community develops: the children.

Afghanistan, 2014. As the date for the withdrawal of the troops approaches, Captain Antarès Bonassieu and his platoon are assigned a surveillance and control mission in a remote valley of Wakhan, on the border with Pakistan. Notwithstanding the determination of Antarès and his men, they will gradually lose control of this apparently calm sector. One night the soldiers begin mysteriously disappearing into the valley.
